Garden Deck Leak

 

There was an issue raised regarding water leaking down over the granite facade at the driveway or lobby drop off point. Why was this included in the Roof Deck Project? Because after finding out the cause of the leak we asked for assistance from the Roof Deck Waterproofing Project contractor Eastkem to help fix the problem... F.O.C. of course...

When this issue was raised about water dripping down this corner the admin office was alerted and instructed to even barricade or cordon off the area surrounding the front steps of TEL for fear of the "granite facade falling down".

After much debate about the source of this "waterfall" I told my hunch is the water is most likely leaking down from the Garden Deck at the 5th floor.  So I gave instructions to dig up this portion of the "plant box" surrounding the whole Garden Deck to verify my theory.

And it turned out my theory was correct. The drain pipes for the plant box is raised from the floor. Certain portions were not properly cemented when in was built and no proper waterproofing before putting in the gravel and soil.  Fortunately the waterproofing project contractor Eastkem assisted us in this predicament... F.O.C.  In the end this is not about who's theory was right but about finally addressing the leak problem.
